Two-Day Training of Charge Census Officers Completed for Census 2027 Phase-II
Self-enumeration from November 16 to 30, 2026; fieldwork to be conducted digitally from Dec 1 to Jan 4
Ferozepur, September 16, 2026: A two-day training programme for all Charge Census Officers of Ferozepur district under Phase-II of Census 2027 was conducted at the Meeting Hall of the Deputy Commissioner’s Office under the directions of Deputy Commissioner-cum-Principal Census Officer Deepashikha Sharma.
The training was imparted by R.P. Singh, Joint Director, Census Department; Kartik Arya, District Coordinator; and Bimal, JE. SDM Ferozepur Abhishek Sharma and SDM Zira Suraj were also specially present during the training programme.
R.P. Singh said that under Phase-II of Census 2027, self-enumeration will be carried out from November 16 to November 30, 2026. During this period, citizens will be able to fill in their census data online themselves.
He said that this would be followed by fieldwork from December 1, 2026, to January 4, 2027, which will be conducted through digital mode using the CMMS Portal. Accordingly, all Charge Census Officers of Ferozepur district were given detailed training on the use of the portal and various aspects related to fieldwork.
During the training, the officers were briefed on digital data collection, use of the CMMS Portal and the tasks to be undertaken at the field level under Phase-II of Census 2027. Their queries were also addressed by the trainers.
Gurinder Singh, Additional District Census Officer; Tarsem Lal, Assistant Research Officer; and Harjinder Singh, Assistant Research Officer, were also present on the occasion.
