Vishwa Sanatan Dharma Sabha Honours 77 Saints and Prominent Personalities Associated with Sanatan Dharma

Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini said that service and spiritual practice are the fundamental pillars of Sanatan Dharma, and that the scriptures have given special importance to service, protection of nature and strengthening social unity. He said Sanatan Dharma inspires people to learn the art of living and to serve humanity. He added that religious places are not merely centres of faith but also foundations of social consciousness.
Saini was addressing a special felicitation ceremony organised by the Vishwa Sanatan Dharma Sabha in Chandigarh. On the occasion, 77 saints, religious leaders and prominent personalities associated with Sanatan Dharma, who have made valuable contributions in various fields, were honoured. Prominent personalities associated with Sanatan Dharma from 51 cities of Punjab participated in the event.
Among those present were Punjab BJP Organisation Secretary Manthri Nivasalu, Sant Guru Kirpa Ji of Divya Jyoti Jagran Sansthan, Ranjit Anand, Mahant Sant Rajendra Kaushak of Kali Mata Temple, Patiala, Rakesh Sharma of Durgiana Temple Teerth, Varinder Mittal of Durga Temple Jalandhar Committee, Devi Dayal and Ram Gopal, along with office-bearers and activists of the Vishwa Sanatan Dharma Sabha and other prominent personalities.
September 17: A Time for a New Resolve
Addressing the gathering, Nayab Singh Saini said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday on September 17 provides an opportunity to take a new resolve. He said that every section of society should contribute towards fulfilling the dream of a developed India by 2047.
Referring to the problem of drug abuse, he said that protecting society from drugs is a major necessity today. A compassionate approach should be adopted towards people struggling with addiction, and collective efforts should be made to help them come out of the grip of drugs.
Significance of the Indian Bhakti Movement
He said that India’s spiritual and cultural traditions hold significance at the global level. Referring to the philosophy of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji — ‘Kirat Karo, Naam Japo and Vand Chhako’ — and Sri Guru Ravidas Ji’s concept of ‘Begampura’, he said that the fundamental objective of the teachings of our Gurus and saints is to connect human beings with one another and strengthen fraternity in society. He said that the message of the Srimad Bhagavad Gita is also a source of inspiration for all humanity.
After honouring the personalities, Nayab Singh Saini said in his address that these individuals have made significant contributions in social service, religious activities and other fields. He said he was extremely pleased to be among these honoured personalities. He also expressed gratitude for the love and blessings that he has consistently received from the people of Punjab.
On the occasion, Ashwani Sekhri, National President of the Vishwa Sanatan Dharma Sabha and former MLA of Punjab, provided information about the activities of the Sabha and highlighted the social and religious contributions of the personalities who were honoured.
