PSPCL to update records of 2,109 pensioners, 876 family pensioners

Patiala (Punjab), September 25, 2026: The Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL) has directed all Drawing and Disbursing Officers (DDOs) to update pension records to ensure timely release of financial benefits to pensioners and family pensioners.
According to PSPCL Chief Engineer, Distribution South Zone, Patiala, Er. Rattan Kumar Mittal, the records showed that the dates of death of 2,109 pensioners and dates of birth of 876 family pensioners had not been updated in the pension package.
The issue came to light during a meeting involving PSPCL Chairman-cum-Managing Director (CMD) Gurkirat Kirpal Singh, IAS, the PSEB Joint Forum and the Bijli Mulazam Ekta Manch Punjab. It was pointed out that incomplete records were creating difficulties in processing benefits, including Old Age Allowance and Leave Travel Concession (LTC).
Following an examination of the records, PSPCL found that the required details had not been entered for the 2,109 pensioners and 876 family pensioners.
PSPCL CMD Gurkirat Kirpal Singh has directed all concerned DDOs to complete the exercise within 15 days. The corporation has also issued a letter dated September 23, 2026, instructing DDOs to immediately verify the relevant records and update the information on the basis of supporting documents.
Where documents or information are incomplete, the concerned offices have been directed to contact the pensioners directly and facilitate completion of the required formalities.
PSPCL said the exercise is aimed at ensuring that eligible pensioners and family pensioners receive their admissible financial benefits without unnecessary delay.
