Chandigarh, October 11, 2026: Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has strongly condemned the alleged entry of Delhi Police personnel into Gurdwara Sri Bangla Sahib in New Delhi during protests on Saturday.
In a post, Mann said gurdwaras had historically kept their doors open to provide shelter to people in need. He said that if young protesters had entered the gurdwara, the principle of the Guru Ghar required the sewadars to offer them shelter.
Mann alleged that Delhi Police personnel entered the gurdwara with their heads uncovered and wearing shoes, thereby violating the sanctity and religious decorum of the Sikh shrine.
Describing the incident as shameful, the Chief Minister said the Sikh community would not forgive the BJP for the alleged act.
