Chandigarh, October 13, 2026: BJP leader Kewal Singh Dhillon has condemned the murder of anti-drug activist Parvinder Singh Jhota in Mansa and demanded the resignation of Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann over the law-and-order situation in the state.
In a post on X, Dhillon described the situation in Punjab as “jungle raj” and alleged that the state was witnessing repeated murders, growing gangster activity and the open sale of drugs.
Referring to Jhota as a voice against drugs, Dhillon questioned the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government's claims of bringing change to Punjab, saying that law and order had been reduced to a mere slogan.
“Bhagwant Mann ji, have mercy on the people of Punjab, resign and spare Punjab,” Dhillon said in his post.
He also tagged Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah and other senior BJP leaders, drawing their attention to the issue.
Dhillon's remarks came after Jhota was shot dead in Mansa on Tuesday. According to reports, a medical store owner allegedly shot the activist dead.
Meanwhile, AAP leader Baltej Pannu also condemned the killing, stating that no one would be allowed to take the law into their own hands and that strict action would be taken against the accused.
