Chandigarh, October 13, 2026: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has asked the Mohali police to register an FIR against the Punjab Cricket Association (PCA), its president and others over alleged financial irregularities in land transactions worth ₹77.99 crore in Ajnala, Amritsar district, and Bathinda.
In a communication issued under Section 66(2) of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act, 2002, the ED flagged alleged overpricing of land, significant differences between purchase and resale prices, and suspicious fund transfers following the transactions.

In Bathinda, the PCA purchased 100 kanal and 10 marla of land in Deon village for ₹19.76 crore on December 20, 2024. The reported price of approximately ₹19.67 lakh per kanal was nearly four times the government collector rate of ₹5 lakh per kanal.
In Ajnala, the ED flagged alleged discrepancies between the original purchase prices of land from farmers and the prices at which portions were subsequently sold to the PCA within a few months. According to the communication, the land was initially purchased at rates ranging from ₹2.22 lakh to ₹2.48 lakh per kanal and later sold to the association at around ₹37.4 lakh per kanal.
The agency also raised concerns over the subsequent movement of funds. According to the communication, transfers of ₹3.58 crore and ₹2.03 crore were made to separate recipients in connection with one set of transactions. In another instance, ₹45 crore was allegedly transferred to business partners in equal amounts of ₹22.5 crore each. The ED also flagged substantial cash withdrawals.
The agency has reportedly sought registration of a criminal case under relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023, in connection with suspected offences, including cheating and criminal conspiracy.
The allegations concern suspected financial irregularities and possible money laundering. They have not been established in court, and the proposed FIR would enable the police to investigate the matter.
