Violators of fixed paddy harvesting hours to face action : RTO
Ferozepur, October 15, 2026: In accordance with the orders of the District Magistrate, Ferozepur, harvesting of paddy through combine harvesters has been prohibited in the district from 6 PM to 10 AM.
The restriction on harvesting during evening and night hours has been imposed with the objective of ensuring better quality of paddy and reducing problems associated with harvesting under unsuitable conditions. Paddy harvested during late evening, night or early morning hours may have higher moisture content, which can affect the quality of the produce and create difficulties during procurement, drying and storage. Restricting harvesting to daylight hours can also facilitate proper supervision of harvesting operations and help ensure compliance with regulations concerning the use of combine harvesters.
Nevertheless, the administration has urged all concerned to strictly adhere to the prescribed timings in the larger interest of ensuring regulated and quality-conscious paddy harvesting.
Vishavjit Singh Sidhu, Regional Transport Officer, appealed to farmers and combine harvester operators to carry out paddy harvesting only during the permitted hours and follow all instructions issued by the district administration. He said that any violation of the orders would invite immediate legal action.
