Mansa (Punjab), October 26, 2026: The Action Committee spearheading the struggle for justice in the Parvinder Singh Jhota murder case has announced that prayers will be held at gurdwaras across Punjab on October 28 following an appeal by Sri Akal Takht Sahib Jathedar Giani Kuldeep Singh Gargaj.
The Jathedar has appealed to gurdwaras across Punjab to offer prayers seeking justice for Parvinder Singh Jhota. The Action Committee said the initiative would express solidarity with the bereaved family and provide emotional support as it continues its struggle.
The committee will also send invitation letters to farmers, labourers, traders, employees and religious organisations across the state, seeking their participation in the movement. The next phase of the struggle will be decided through discussions with these organisations, its members said.
Meanwhile, the Action Committee has constituted a committee to address difficulties faced by Mansa residents amid the ongoing agitation. Formed at the request of city residents, the committee will explore arrangements for adequate transport routes to help people commute for their daily needs.
The committee acknowledged the support extended by residents, who had earlier observed a three-day shutdown in Mansa in solidarity with the demand for justice. Residents have assured the protesters of continued support, the leaders said.
The newly formed committee aims to address the difficulties faced by people in carrying out their routine activities while ensuring that their concerns are considered during the ongoing movement.
Parvinder Singh Jhota’s father, Bhim Singh Fauji, his wife, Manpreet Kaur, and several Action Committee members and supporters were present on the occasion.
Those present included Bogh Singh Mansa, Krishan Chauhan, Gurjant Singh, Sukhwinder Singh Aulakh, Munish Babbi Danewalia, Gagandeep Sirsiwala, Aman Patwari, Lakha Sidhana, Bhana Sidhu, Ruby Mansa, Jasvir Kaur Natt, Bhagwant Samao, Arvinder Kaur, Nirmal Singh Jhanduke and other committee members and supporters.
