Breaking: 2 seats in the Punjab Vidhan Sabha fall vacant

Chandigarh, November 2, 2026: Two seats in the Punjab Legislative Assembly have fallen vacant following the resignation of Amritsar North MLA Kunwar Vijay Pratap Singh and Sanour MLA Harmeet Singh Pathanmajra.
According to an official notification issued by the Punjab Legislative Assembly Secretariat on Monday, both legislators submitted their resignations under Article 190(3)(b) of the Constitution of India, with effect from November 1, 2026.
The resignations were accepted by the Speaker of the Punjab Legislative Assembly on November 2.
Consequently, the seats of 15-Amritsar North and 114-Sanour have been declared vacant with effect from November 2, 2026.
