Chandigarh, November 4, 2026: Punjab Defence Services Welfare Minister Mohinder Bhagat on Wednesday reviewed preparations for the 10th Military Literature Festival, scheduled to be held from November 13 to 15 at the Lake Club, Sector 5, Chandigarh.
Chairing a meeting of the Department of Defence Services Welfare, Bhagat also reviewed pending issues concerning ex-servicemen and directed the officers concerned to ensure timely action on matters related to their welfare.
The Minister said the Punjab Government was extending support to the festival, which is being organised in association with the Chandigarh Administration, Headquarters Western Command and other participating organisations.
The three-day event will be held under the theme ‘A Decade of Serving the Youth of Punjab and India’. It will showcase the country’s military heritage, the valour of its armed forces and the sacrifices made by soldiers through panel discussions, theatre presentations, exhibitions and other activities.
Bhagat said the festival had developed into an important platform for connecting young people with India’s military history. Its activities would seek to inspire the younger generation through stories of courage, patriotism, leadership and sacrifice.
Expressing confidence that the 10th edition would draw participation from students, youth, ex-servicemen, defence enthusiasts and the general public, he said the event would remain open to visitors from 9 am to 6 pm during all three days.
