  Dhuri/Sangrur, April 5, 2015: The Punjab Congress President Partap Singh Bajwa today said the anger in the people was welling up as they were fed up with the Parkash Singh Badal government which had failed on all fronts. Bajwa referred to the Dhuri town having turned into dharna ground with every section of the society protesting here for the acceptance of their demands and they included anganwadi workers, mid-day meal scheme and National Rural Health Mission workers besides several other organisations. This was reflective of the pent up feelings amongst the people and increasing resentment. He challenged Badal to come out with the list of promises that his government had fulfilled after coming into power. He said the Akali Dal had come out with a colourful manifesto but the same seemed to have now been painted with black brush. The PPCC chief said the coffers of this government were empty and no development work was going on. The roads in the towns and cities were potholed fit onoy for the movement of trucks. Similar was the condition of the link roads many of which had ceased to exist. He called upon the people to give a befitting reply to this failed government as the change should start with Dhuri. It was the time for the people to give a crushing defeat which had come into power only by misleading them. Moreover, this was a government of the mafia and for the mafia. This mafia was controlling liquor, sand and cable network and the interests of the ruling leaders in all such shady deals were too well known. It was this government that was responsible for the increasing drug menace. It was not without reason that the names of the ministers of this government had surfaced in rackets, he added. Mr said the suicide by cable operator Jaswinder Singh Jassi in front of the Supreme Court and Punjab and Haryana High Court judges in Amritsar recently was shocking and his suicide note had exposed the people who were running and patronising the mafia.
