The Man Who Turned Classrooms into Movements – Vijay Garg’s Story
Vijay Garg’s role is not limited to being a teacher. He is also a guide, a thinker, and a social architect. Using digital means, he established the New National Digital Library, where study material, guidance, competitive exam books, and general knowledge resources are provided to students of science and mathematics.
Especially through WhatsApp groups, he has provided books and guides in digital format to hundreds of students preparing for difficult exams like NEET, JEE, UPSC, IAS, Olympiads, and other competitive tests — all free of cost.
Writing: A Torch of Ideas
Vijay Garg considers writing not just a hobby or a profession but a social responsibility. He has published thousands of articles in English, Hindi, and Punjabi in national and state-level newspapers and magazines.
He has been a regular columnist in reputed magazines like Junior Science Refresher. The subjects of his articles have extended beyond education to include social awareness, environment, science dissemination, life skills, and the psychological needs of students.
Over 125 Books: A Treasury of Knowledge
As an author, he has written more than 125 books. These books are dedicated to quick revision for NPSE, NMMS, Vedic Maths, Social Sciences, Class IX–X Mathematics, and Class XII Mathematics.
The most remarkable aspect of his writing is how he made difficult subjects accessible through simple language and interesting examples. His books gave confidence to students — especially those from rural backgrounds — that they, too, could dream big.
Dedication to Science
His scientific vision extended beyond theory; he inspired students toward innovation by participating in national science fairs. He participated twice in the National Science Fair and three times in the National Children's Science Congress.
In addition, his articles published in Jai Vijay magazine have won first prize several times. His students' science projects have also been selected and honored at the state level.
Active Even After Retirement
There is no retirement from service — he proved this. Even after retiring from the education department at the age of 58, his life did not pause. He remains active in writing new books, distributing digital learning material, and offering career counseling. He organizes free career guidance sessions for students and parents, benefiting hundreds of families.
Honours and Recognition
His contributions have been formally recognized by the education department. He was awarded a special appreciation certificate by the Punjab Education Secretary.
While this honor formally acknowledges his consistent contribution, the real recognition lies in the success of the students who are moving ahead in life with his blessings.
Family Life and Legacy
Vijay Garg’s family background is also rooted in educational values. His son, Dr. Ankush Garg, is pursuing an MD in Radiology at Government Medical College, Srinagar — proof that he has passed on the same values to the next generation.
The Power of Surrender Over Fatigue
Today, at the age of 62, when the body seeks rest, Vijay Garg’s mind is engaged in new creations, new ideas, and new plans for social service. His life is living proof that there is no age limit for service and creation. He is constantly engaged in learning, teaching, and giving direction to society.
His life teaches us that if a person is determined, they can guide society without any platform, position, or publicity. Vijay Garg is not only a teacher; he is an ideology — the ideology of service and simplicity, which is becoming more relevant with time.
The life of such a person should not only be the subject of a book but also the beginning of a movement — a movement in which every learner becomes a teacher, and every teacher becomes an architect of society.
