Ferozepur's village son Arvinder Khosa makes Global Mark, becomes Cricket Canada President
Ferozepur, April 11, 2026" Punjabis across the globe have once again brought pride to their community as Arvinder Singh Khosa has been elected President of Cricket Canada.
Sharing this information with the media, his former physical education teacher and state and national awardee, Gurnam Singh Sidhu Gama, said that Khosa, popularly known as “Afridi” for his playing style, hails from Kotha Ambarhar village in Ferozepur. He received his early education from Dal Chand Senior Secondary School, Ferozepur Cantt, and pursued higher studies at Guru Nanak College, Ferozepur Cantt. Inspired by his late father, Nishan Singh Khosa, and uncle Sukhwant Singh Khosa, he developed a passion for cricket at a young age.
Speaking over the phone from Canada, Khosa revealed that the Cricket Canada elections had been pending for a long time, with pressure from the International Cricket Council to conduct them. He added that after legal intervention and directions from the Supreme Court, elections were finally held, where he secured a convincing victory with support from 8 out of 10 states.
Expressing his commitment, Khosa said he would dedicate himself completely to the growth and development of cricket in Canada, with hopes of building a bright future for the sport.
His achievement has drawn widespread congratulations from prominent personalities, including Rana Gurmit Singh Sodhi, Kulbir Singh Zira, singer R Nait, and several others, who lauded him for bringing laurels to Punjab and the global Punjabi community.
