2009-batch IAS officer empanneled for Joint Secretary-Level Posts in Centre

New Delhi, June 29, 2026: Saurabh Kumar, 2009-batch IAS officer of Chattishgarh cadre has been empanelled for appointment to Joint Secretary or equivalent-level posts in the Government of India.
According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT), Kumar’s empanelment has now been approved after his name was not included in the initial list of 2009-batch IAS officers cleared for Joint Secretary-level positions.
Saurabh Kumar is currently serving on Central deputation as Director in the Department of Revenue under the Ministry of Finance. He was appointed to the post in June 2025 for a five-year tenure under the Central Staffing Scheme.
The empanelment makes Kumar eligible for appointment to Joint Secretary or equivalent-level assignments in the Central government, subject to vacancy and administrative requirements.
