DLSA holds awareness programme on Community Mediation
Ferozepur, September 29, 2026: The District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), organised an awareness programme on Community Mediation on Tuesday in accordance with the directions of the National Legal Services Authority (NALSA), New Delhi, and the Punjab State Legal Services Authority, SAS Nagar (Mohali).
The programme was held under the guidance of Sumeet Malhotra, District and Sessions Judge-cum-Chairman, District Legal Services Authority, Ferozepur.
Anuradha, Chief Judicial Magistrate-cum-Secretary, DLSA, attended the programme as the resource person. The programme was also attended by the Chairman and members of the Permanent Lok Adalat (Public Utility Services), Ferozepur, panel advocates, para-legal volunteers, community mediators and village sarpanches.
The District and Sessions Judge provided detailed information about Community Mediation and highlighted its importance in facilitating the amicable resolution of disputes at the community level.
Panel advocates and para-legal volunteers were also directed to create awareness about Community Mediation through seminars and other awareness activities so that people could benefit from this mechanism for resolving disputes.
