Filthy kitchen caught in Ferozepur; Food Safety Wing issues 15-Day improvement notice to business operator
Ferozepur, August 8, 2026: During a routine inspection, the Food Safety Wing found highly unsatisfactory hygiene conditions at Naresh Chicken located on the Main Road. Officials observed significant dirt and grime on the cooking oil, frying equipment and the bread toast heating machine. Food was also being prepared in unhygienic surroundings.
In accordance with the provisions of the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006, a 15-day improvement notice has been issued to Naresh Kumar, son of Shri Kali Ram. Failure to make the required improvements in cleanliness and hygiene within the stipulated period, or if dirt is found again during a subsequent inspection, will invite legal action under Sections 26 and 56 of the Act read with Schedule-4.
The Food Safety Wing has appealed to the public to carefully check the cleanliness of premises, utensils and equipment before purchasing or consuming food from any restaurant, dhaba, sweet shop or roadside vendor. Cooking utensils should preferably be of stainless steel, and the cooking oil used must be clean and of standard quality. Repeatedly used or darkened oil can be harmful to health and may increase the risk of serious diseases with prolonged consumption.
All food business operators have also been directed to strictly adhere to cleanliness, personal hygiene and food safety standards so that the public receives safe and quality food, said Abhinav Khosla, Food Safety Officer.
