Chandigarh, August 23, 2026: The Punjab Government will organise an NRI Milni in Bathinda on August 26 to provide overseas Punjabis a platform to raise their grievances directly with senior civil and police officials and seek on-the-spot resolution of their issues.
Punjab NRI Affairs Minister Dr. Ravjot Singh said the initiative was aimed at ensuring timely and effective resolution of complaints and issues faced by Punjabis settled abroad through direct interaction and coordination with the concerned departments.
The NRI Milni will be held at 11 am on Wednesday, August 26, at Hotel Sepal, G.T. Road, near Tinkoni, Bathinda.
Overseas Punjabis belonging to Bathinda, Moga, Ferozepur, Faridkot, Fazilka, Sri Muktsar Sahib and Mansa districts will be able to participate in the event.
Dr. Ravjot Singh said participants would be able to present their complaints, problems and suggestions before senior civil and police officers. The concerned departments would coordinate to examine the grievances and expedite possible solutions.
He said the Punjab Government, led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, had earlier organised NRI Milnis in SAS Nagar (Mohali) and Ludhiana, where grievances of overseas Punjabis from eight districts were taken up.
The minister said the state government considered overseas Punjabis an integral part of the Punjabi family and was focusing on direct dialogue, transparency and prompt action to address their concerns.
He added that efforts would be made to resolve various issues, including property-related, family, administrative and legal grievances, while further strengthening the connection between Punjabis living abroad and their homeland.
Dr. Ravjot Singh appealed to overseas Punjabis from the seven districts to participate in the Bathinda NRI Milni and bring their grievances before the concerned authorities so that necessary action could be expedited.
