Rajinder Gupta Elected Unopposed to Rajya Sabha from Punjab

Eminent industrialist and Trident Group Chairman Emeritus Rajinder Gupta has been declared elected unopposed to the Rajya Sabha from Punjab, following the closure of the nomination withdrawal deadline on Thursday afternoon.
Returning Officer Ram Lok handed over the certificate of election to Mr. Gupta in the presence of Punjab Assembly Speaker Kultar Singh Sandhwan. Gupta was accompanied by his wife during the formal ceremony held at the Punjab Vidhan Sabha complex.Mr Deepak Nanda, MD, Trident Group was also present.
Rajinder Gupta had filed his nomination as a candidate of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) for the Rajya Sabha bypoll, which was necessitated due to a vacant seat from Punjab.
With his unopposed election, the prominent business leader and philanthropist is set to bring his extensive industrial experience and commitment to national service to the Upper House of Parliament.
