Voters to head towards polling booths on June 1 as festival of democracy
DC hoists 100 ft high balloon with the slogan “Punjab will vote on June 1”
Ferozepur, May 21, 2024: Voters in the Ferozepur-10 Lok Sabha constituency will head towards polling booths on June 1 considering it a Festival of Democracy, said Rajesh Dhiman, DEO-cum-DC while hoisting 100 ft high balloons atop District Administrative Complex to give a message of voting in Ferozepur.
All possible efforts are being made in district Ferozepur to awaken the voters during the Lok Sabha elections in 2024. In this context, DC-cum-DEO, Rajesh Dhiman took a unique initiative to create awareness among the people of the district about using the right to vote by hosting 00 a high balloon at the district administrative complex with the SVEEP team, which will motivate the passers-by to vote in the Lok Sabha polls to be held on June 1.
Various efforts are being made under the SVEEP campaign to increase the poll percentage during the Lok Sabha elections in the district. This balloon depicting the slogan "Punjab will vote on June 1" has been hoisted. He said we have the right to vote to keep democracy intact. So we all should vote freely without any fear or greed. He appealed to the voters to consider June 1 as the festival of democracy and arrive at the polling booth early in the morning keeping in mind the summer season and cooperate in the strengthening of democracy.
Election Tehsildar Chad Prakash and District SVEEP Coordinator Dr Satinder Singh said that SVEEP is the flagship program of the Election Commission of India to spread voter awareness and promote voter literacy, with the main objective of encouraging all eligible citizens to vote and make an informed decision during the elections for a truly participatory election. The SVEEP team is constantly making the voters aware of voting through various activities to strengthen democracy.
On this occasion SDM Ferozepur Dr. Charumita, Assistant Commissioner (G) Suraj Kumar, Election Kanungo Gagandeep Kaur, Sarabjit Singh Bhavra, Kamal Sharma, Dr. Bohar Singh, Rajinder Kumar, Tarlochan Singh Programmer etc were present.
