Northern Railway GM reviews performance: Focus on sustainability, safety, and Festival preparations
Delhi, October 8, 2024: In a comprehensive review meeting held at Baroda House, Ashok Kumar Verma, General Manager of Northern Railway, evaluated the performance of the Northern Railway with departmental heads and Divisional Railway Managers (DRMs). The meeting underscored the railway’s dedication to operational excellence, customer satisfaction, and sustainable development.
Key discussions centered on improving passenger amenities and ensuring a seamless experience during the upcoming festive season, including Durga Puja, Diwali, and Chhath Puja. Emphasizing smooth passenger movement and effective management of railway facilities, Shri Verma highlighted the need for additional measures to alleviate congestion and maintain cleanliness at stations.
The review also featured a focus on green initiatives aimed at minimizing Northern Railway's carbon footprint. Shri Verma detailed efforts in waste reduction and sustainable practices, such as implementing solar power, energy-efficient lighting, and eco-friendly waste management practices.
