New Delhi, August 2, 2025: In a significant appeal ahead of a major religious occasion, Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (DSGMC) President Harmeet Singh Kalka has written a letter to Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) President Harjinder Singh Dhami, requesting joint commemoration of the 350th Shaheedi Diwas of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib Ji in Delhi.

The DSGMC is organizing large-scale Gurmat programs across Delhi to commemorate the martyrdom anniversary of the ninth Sikh Guru. Kalka has urged the SGPC to unite “as elder and younger brothers” to mark the historic event together.
"With full humility, I request you to bless this initiative by joining hands with DSGMC to commemorate this Shaheedi Diwas jointly in Delhi. We will extend full respect and cooperation, fulfilling our duty as the younger brother," Kalka wrote in his letter.
The appeal introduces a new twist in Panthic politics, as observers see this as a move to bridge institutional gaps between DSGMC and SGPC, which have often been divided over leadership, control, and religious representation.
