  Tarn Taran, October 19, 2025: In a big development in Panthic politics Giani Harpreet Singh led Shiromani Akali Dal (Punar Surjeet) has extended support to Bhai Mandeep Singh candidate of Shiromani Akali Dal Waris Punjab De. Bhai Mandeep Singh is brother of Sandeep Sunny who had earlier murdered Shiv Sena leader Sudhi Suri in Amritsar and recently killed a jailed DSP who was famous as Suba Sirhind and was accused of killing innocent Sikhs.
  
  During filing of nomination papers by Bhai Mandeep Singh, SAD leader Gurpartap Singh Wadala, Surjit Singh Rakhra, Santa Singh Umaidpuri, Sucha Singh Chotepur and other leaders of Giani Harpreet Singh led faction were present.
