New Delhi, March 4, 2026: Amid escalating tensions in several Arab countries, Punjab NRI Affairs Minister Ravjot Singh on Wednesday visited the ‘Punjab Assistance Centre’ established at Indira Gandhi International Airport, New Delhi, to review arrangements for Punjabis returning from the Gulf region.
The minister inspected facilities set up at the airport and interacted with officials deployed at the centre to assess the support being extended to passengers arriving from affected countries.
The visit aimed at ensuring a smooth and hassle-free return process for those landing in India under distressing circumstances.
Directing officials to further streamline operations, Ravjot Singh emphasised that all necessary facilities must be strengthened so that returning passengers do not face inconvenience upon arrival.
He instructed authorities to prioritise transportation arrangements and ensure immediate assistance for onward travel to Punjab.
Reiterating the commitment of the Punjab government, he stated that under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, the safe return of Punjabis stranded in Arab nations remains the top priority.
