Ferozepur becomes first Rail Division in Nr.Rly to achieve 100% biometric system in TTE Lobbies
Ferozepur, March 26, 2026: Marking a significant step towards digital transformation, the Ferozepur Division of Northern Railway has successfully implemented a 100 per cent biometric sign-on and sign-off system across all its eight TTE (Travelling Ticket Examiner) lobbies, becoming the first division in Northern Railway to achieve this milestone.
The biometric attendance system has been made operational at TTE lobbies located at Amritsar, Ludhiana, Jalandhar City, Jalandhar Cantt, Hoshiarpur, Moga, Ferozepur Cantt and Fazilka railway stations. With this, 100 per cent biometric attendance is now being ensured, making the process transparent, secure and accurate.
The introduction of this modern system has fully digitised the attendance and duty management process of TTE staff, leading to improved efficiency and better workforce management.
Senior Divisional Commercial Manager Parmdeep Singh Saini stated that the initiative has been undertaken under the Government of India’s Digital India programme. He added that the system will not only streamline staff management but also contribute to providing passengers with more efficient and timely services.
The Ferozepur Division continues to adopt innovative measures aimed at enhancing operational efficiency and passenger satisfaction.
