Ferozepur, May 1, 2026: The self-enumeration facility under Census 2027 has been launched by the Government of India, enabling citizens to fill in their details online from the comfort of their homes. The facility will remain available until May 14, 2026.
Deputy Commissioner-cum-Principal Census Officer Deepshikha Sharma inaugurated the initiative by filling out her own self-enumeration form and encouraged residents to actively participate in the process.
Providing details, she said that citizens can log on to the official portal and complete the process by selecting their preferred language and registering with a mobile number and basic information. After logging in, users are required to accurately fill in all the questions and submit the form online.
She further explained that upon submission, a unique Self-Enumeration ID will be generated. When a census official visits the household, citizens can present this ID for verification, eliminating the need to fill out the form again.
DC appealed to district residents to make maximum use of this facility and contribute towards the smooth and successful completion of the census process.
Among those present on the occasion were Nodal Officer Census Gurinder Singh, Assistant Research Officer Tarsem Lal, Assistant Charge Officer Satish Kumar (SDE), Field Trainer Officer Ankush Wadhra, Supervisor Harish Kumar, and Enumerator Talwinder Singh.
