BJP appoints Amit Shah as Central Observer for West Bengal; Mohan Charan Majhi as Co-Observer

New Delhi, May 5, 2026: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Monday appointed Union Home Minister Amit Shah as the central observer for the election of the party’s legislative party leader in West Bengal.
In an official statement issued by BJP National General Secretary Arun Singh, Mohan Charan Majhi was named co-observer for the process.
The appointments are part of the party’s internal procedure to elect its legislative party leader in the state.
