Ferozepur Rail Division returns lost belongings worth over ₹4.44 Lakh to passengers

Ferozepur, June 6, 2026: In a commendable effort towards ensuring passenger safety, security, and convenience, the Ferozepur Division of Indian Railways continues to strengthen passengers’ confidence through various public welfare and security initiatives undertaken by the Railway Protection Force (RPF).
Under Operation Amanat, the Ferozepur Division achieved significant success during May 2026 by tracing and returning lost belongings to their rightful owners. During the month, RPF personnel successfully recovered and handed back lost items in 39 cases, with the total estimated value of the returned property amounting to ₹4,44,800.
The recovered items included laptops, mobile phones, bags, wallets, important documents, and other valuable belongings. The successful recovery and return of these items were made possible through the vigilance of RPF officers and personnel, prompt response mechanisms, effective CCTV surveillance, and close coordination among various railway departments.
Passengers who received their lost belongings expressed gratitude to the Railway Protection Force and appreciated its dedicated efforts and efficient functioning.
Senior Divisional Security Commissioner/RPF, Ferozepur, Rishi Pandey, stated that the Railway Protection Force remains committed to assisting and safeguarding passengers at all times. He said that the objective of Operation Amanat is to quickly trace lost belongings and return them to their rightful owners, thereby further strengthening passengers’ trust in the railways.
He also appealed to passengers to remain vigilant about their belongings while travelling and advised them to immediately contact the Rail Madad Helpline 139 or the nearest RPF post in case of any assistance, complaint, or information requirement.
