Patiala, June 6:
Chief Administrator of the Patiala Development Authority (PDA), Aparna M.B., stated that the PDA has been taking action against unauthorized colonies that have come up without approval in Patiala district under the provisions of the Punjab Apartment and Property Regulation Act (PAPRA), 1995.
The Chief Administrator informed that demolition drives have already been carried out against several unauthorized colonies. She further stated that concerned Sub-Registrars have been instructed not to register sale deeds of plots located in more than 100 unauthorized colonies identified by the authority.
Aparna M.B. further explained that colonizers and promoters operating these unauthorized colonies generally fail to provide essential infrastructure and basic amenities such as water supply, sewerage systems, and electricity facilities. She appealed to the public not to invest their hard-earned money in such unauthorized colonies and to refrain from purchasing or selling plots situated in these colonies.
The PDA Chief Administrator also informed the public that the PDA does not issue No Objection Certificates (NOCs) for plots located in unauthorized colonies. A complete list of such unauthorized colonies can be accessed on the official PDA Patiala website: PDA Patiala Website.
She further cautioned colonizers and promoters that before undertaking any colony development project, they must obtain the necessary license from the competent authority in accordance with PUDA regulations. Failure to do so will invite legal action, and the unauthorized colony may be demolished by the authorities.
