65-yr-old Chandigarh's Opinder Kaur Sekhon shines on International debut, wins four medals at Malaysian Masters Athletics Championship

Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia), June 7, 2026: Chandigarh-based master athlete Opinder Kaur Sekhon, 65, delivered an outstanding performance on her international debut by winning four medals at the 38th Malaysian International Masters Athletics Championship held in Kuala Lumpur from June 5 to 7.
Competing against seasoned athletes from various countries, Sekhon secured medals in all four events she participated in, marking a remarkable achievement for India and Chandigarh on the global masters athletics stage.
She won gold medals in the 400-metre race with a timing of 1:42.35 and in the discus throw with a best effort of 14.75 metres. She also claimed silver medals in the 200-metre race with a timing of 42.59 seconds and the 100-metre race in 20.37 seconds.
