Morinda/Chandigarh, July 3, 2026: Senior Congress leader Tript Rajinder Singh Bajwa on Friday said a delegation led by former Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi will meet the Congress high command to seek a review of the party's recent organisational decisions in Punjab, while asserting that the group has no differences with the central leadership.
The statement came after a meeting of senior Congress leaders at Channi's residence in Morinda, attended by several current and former MLAs, former MPs and ex-ministers amid growing discontent over the party's recent appointments in the state unit.

Addressing the media after the meeting, Bajwa said the leaders respect the Congress high command and are seeking a dialogue rather than a confrontation.
"We have no fight with the Congress high command. We will meet the leadership in Delhi and apprise them of the situation in Punjab. We request the party to reconsider its recent decisions," Bajwa said.
He said Channi has every right to present the concerns of party leaders before the high command and urged him to personally meet the central leadership to discuss the issue.
Expressing concern over the party's current position in Punjab, Bajwa said dissatisfaction among party workers and leaders had adversely affected the Congress.
"The Congress is facing a difficult situation in Punjab because many workers and leaders are unhappy. There is also a sense of disappointment among the public," he said.
The meeting comes days after the Congress high command announced new organisational appointments in Punjab, triggering dissent from a section of party leaders. The Channi camp has maintained that it is seeking a review of the decisions through discussions with the party leadership rather than challenging its authority.
