Haryana: Voters can shift family members to same polling station under SIR-2026; Form-8 applications open on this date
Babushahi Bureau
Chandigarh, July 3, 2026: The Haryana Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) has informed voters that families whose members are registered at different polling stations can apply to have their names shifted to a single polling station during the Special Intensive Revision (SIR)-2026 of the electoral rolls.
Chief Electoral Officer A. Sreenivas said such cases often arise when two polling stations are set up within the same building for a sector or colony, resulting in members of the same family being enrolled at different polling stations.
He said eligible voters who wish to have all family members registered at the same polling station can submit Form-8 during the claims and objections period following the publication of the Draft Electoral Roll-2026.
The Election Department has notified that Form-8 applications can be submitted from July 21 to August 20, 2026.
The CEO also advised new voters to accurately mention the details of an already registered family member while filling Form-6 and submit the application through the Booth Level Officer (BLO) of the same polling station. This, he said, would help ensure that all eligible members of a family are enrolled at the same polling station.
The Election Department has urged voters to verify their names and other details after the publication of the draft electoral roll. Those who find that their family members are registered at different polling stations and wish to consolidate their registration may apply using Form-8 within the notified period.
For assistance related to the electoral roll, voters can contact their local BLO, use the “Book a Call” feature on the ECINET App, or call the Election Commission’s toll-free helpline 1950.
