DA Case Breaking: Punjab & Haryana High Court Orders Punjab Govt to Release DA Within 15 Days; Upholds Single Bench Verdict

Chandigarh, August 3, 2026: In a major relief for Punjab Government employees and pensioners, the Punjab and Haryana High Court on Monday dismissed the Punjab Government's appeals challenging the release of Dearness Allowance (DA) and directed the State Government to release the pending DA within 15 days.
A Division Bench comprising Acting Chief Justice Ashwani Kumar Mishra and Justice Rohit Kapoor upheld the earlier judgment delivered by Justice Harpreet Singh Brar and dismissed the Punjab Government's Letters Patent Appeals (LPA Nos. 1249 of 2026 and 1437 of 2026).
The ruling reaffirms the Single Bench's decision directing the State Government to release the DA dues to its employees and pensioners within the stipulated period.
