Buses to remain off road today on second day of strike of contractual employees of PRTC, Punjab Roadways, commuters harassed

Chandigarh, August 4, 2026: Due to strike of contractual employees of PRTC and Punjab Roadways, 2200 government buses will remain off roads today on second day of the strike.
Yesterday was first day of three day strike. It is learnt that these contractual employees have decided to march to Chief Minister residence to hold protest.
Meanwhile commuters remained a harassed lot due to this strike. Many travellers disclosed that only regular employees were running only a few buses and they were unable to reach their destinations.
