  Zira (Ferozepur), September 6, 2026: In a major political development in Punjab, Gurpreet Singh Sekhon has formally joined the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP).
  
  Sekhon, who is described as having left the gangster world and subsequently entered mainstream social service and politics, joined the party during a large public gathering held in Zira constituency of Ferozepur district on Sunday.
  
  Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann personally attended the event and formally welcomed Sekhon into the AAP fold by presenting him with a siropa.
