Gurdaspur (Punjab), September 12, 2026: Gurdaspur MP Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa has written to Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, seeking a high-level investigation into the alleged flow of financial resources linked to organised crime and gangster networks in Dera Baba Nanak and the wider Gurdaspur region.
In his letter, Randhawa called for a comprehensive and impartial probe into the alleged large-scale distribution and expenditure of money in the area. He raised concerns over the possibility of black money or funds generated through criminal activities being used to build social or political influence.
The Congress MP urged the Union Finance Minister to have the matter investigated under the law by central financial investigation agencies, including the Enforcement Directorate (ED) and the Income Tax Department.
Randhawa also sought strict action against anyone found guilty during the investigation.
The demand comes amid concerns over the alleged influence of organised crime and illicit financial networks in the region.
