Faridkot (Punjab), September 18, 2026: Punjab Police have claimed to have foiled a suspected terror plot ahead of the Baba Sheikh Farid Aagman Purab in Faridkot, with the arrest of a youth allegedly carrying two hand grenades.
The arrested person has been identified as Navjot Singh, a resident of Guru Arjan Dev Nagar, according to the information provided by the police. According to preliminary information, Singh holds Canadian permanent residency and had returned to India from Canada last week.
Police are now investigating whether the accused has any links with terrorist organisations. Further details are expected to emerge as the investigation progresses.
The arrest comes ahead of the Baba Sheikh Farid Aagman Purab, a major annual religious event held in Faridkot.
