Special field monitoring ordered to prevent stubble burning in Ferozepur
ADC Krishna Pal Rajput directs cluster officers to keep a close watch on hotspot villages
Ferozepur, September 29, 2026: To review measures for preventing stubble burning and ensuring proper management of paddy straw during the ongoing harvesting season, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Development) Krishna Pal Rajput chaired a meeting of cluster officers.
Himanshu, IAS (Under Training), along with officials from the Punjab Pollution Control Board and the Agriculture Department, also attended the meeting.
During the meeting, Rajput held detailed discussions on strengthening field-level monitoring, promoting effective stubble management and ensuring better coordination among various departments to prevent stubble-burning incidents.
He directed cluster officers to conduct regular field visits in their respective areas, with special attention to sensitive villages and identified hotspots. He emphasised the need to educate farmers about the harmful effects of stubble burning on the environment and human health and encourage them to adopt in-situ and ex-situ stubble management techniques and machinery.
Officials of the Agriculture Department and the Punjab Pollution Control Board were instructed to provide necessary technical assistance at the field level and ensure timely resolution of problems. They were also asked to maintain regular contact with farmers, machinery owners and other stakeholders to facilitate effective stubble management without burning.
Rajput said that farmers and residents could contact the district control room at 01632-252040 to report stubble-burning incidents or seek information regarding stubble management during the paddy harvesting season.
Himanshu stressed that effective coordination among departments, continuous field monitoring and timely action were essential to prevent stubble burning. He directed all officers to perform their duties diligently and ensure strict implementation of the district administration's stubble management action plan.
