Breaking: CISF head constable allegedly opens fire at colleagues in J-K’s Kathua; Four killed

Kathua (J-K), September 29, 2026: Four Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) personnel were killed after a CISF head constable allegedly opened fire at his colleagues at a camp in Kathua district of Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday.
According to preliminary information, the incident took place at the Sewa-II Hydroelectric Project unit in Kathua. As per an ANI report, an argument reportedly broke out among the personnel before the 2009-batch head constable allegedly opened fire.
Four CISF personnel were killed in the firing. Following the incident, security was tightened at the camp and an investigation was launched to determine the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
The exact cause of the argument and the motive behind the alleged firing have not yet been established.
