Australia: Gurudwara Dashmesh Darbar Adelaide gutted in fire

Adelaide (Australia), July 27, 2026: Gurdwara Dashmesh Darbar in the suburb of Virginia was gutted in fire last night. It is reported that Gurudwara Sahib caught fire around 9.40 PM.
Firefighters were called in immediately and Country Fire Service (CFS) deputed around 60 firefighters and 20 trucks were used to douse fire. Scarcity of water hampered fire fighting operation but ultimately fire was doused in three to four hours.
Local community members disclosed that a huge portion of ceiling had fallen on Saroop of Guru Granth Sahib and firefighters were using tools to cut the big piece of ceiling. This Gurudwara Sahib is established inside a large industrial factory on Old Port Wakefield Road.
