Talwandi Sabo, August 1: Reiterating his firm commitment to boost the overall development of the state and historic Talwandi Sabo particularly, Shiromani Akali Dal President and Deputy Chief Minister Punjab Sukhbir Singh Badal said the victory of SAD-BJP candidates in the bye-elections will ensure speedy development of the area. While addressing an impressive gathering of enthusiastic SAD-BJP workers at a local palace after the filing of nomination by SAD candidate Jeet Mohinder Sidhu here on Friday, Badal said that NDA government led by Prime Minister Narindra Modi will give a major boost to the overall development of the state, while the state had suffered adversely due to the step motherly treatment meted out by the Congress led UPA Government in the past. Badal said that SAD would win the Talwandi Sabo and Patiala bypolls with thumping majority as area people have all set to put a stamp of approval to pro-people, pro-farmer and pro-poor policies of SAD-BJP government by electing SAD candidates . He assured to solve all the long pending demands of the Talwandi Sabo area including complete revamping of irrigation system. Badal said that people of this region consider Badal family as their own family and Sidhu will be part of our family. Badal said SAD -BJP alliance party rank and file was determined to give crushing defeat to the Congress and bye-election result will prove last nail in the coffin of Congress party in Punjab and it will reflect that Congress was totally decimated in the state. Badal said that the Congress party has always inflicted serious blows to the state both economically and religiously, so the wise people of Punjab would never forgive it for these sinister moves. Earlier, Sukhbir Badal and entire leadership of SAD-BJP performed Ardas (prayer) at Takhat Damdama Sahib, where Jathedar Balwant Singh Nandgarh presented them siropas. The SAD-BJP enthusiastic rank and file ensured huge gathering at the Historic Takhat Damdama Sahib to mark the filing of nomination. Surging sentiments of the supporters of SAD–BJP today virtually flowed on the streets of Talwandi Sabo and workers rented the atmosphere with slogans for the success of Akalis. Later , Jeet Mohinder Sidhu accompanied by Sukhbir Singh Badal, Sikander Singh Maluka, Janmeja Singh Sekhon and senior party leaders filed his nomination as Shiromani Akali Dal candidate in the office of SDM Talwandi Sabo. While speaking on the occasion, Punjab Rural Development and Panchayat Minister Sikander Singh Maluka said that people of Talwandi Sabo are all set to vote for Jeet Mohinder Sidhu and give crushing defeat to Congress candidate Harmandir Jassi. Thanking the gathering for making the programme a grand success, Jeet Mohinder Sidhu said that victory in this poll would strengthen him to contribute in development of historic town Talwandi Sabo more effectively. He said that he has many dreams for the development of the Talwandi Sabo which could be fulfilled only after becoming a part of SAD-BJP government. He appealed the voters of Talwandi Sabo to vote for SAD-BJP to ensure the speedy development of the area. Meanwhile, Senior Akali leader Balbir Singh Sidhu and the entire leadership of SAD-BJP from the area pledged that they would turn every stone to ensure historic victory of Sidhu. Prominent among those who accompanied the Deputy CM include Sikander Singh Maluka, Janmeja Singh Sekhon, Sharanjit Singh Dhillon ( all ministers), Sarup Chand Singla, Prem Mittal, Deep Malhotra, Darshan Singh Kot Fatta and senior Akali leaders of the area.
