Patran (Patiala), September 10, 2016: Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee president Capt Amarinder Singh today asked the Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal to substantiate his claims that the Punjab Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal had got prepared 63 CDs involving AAP leaders to defame him and his party.
"Or is it a preemptive admission on your part that you know more scandals are about to tumble down your cupboard and you have decided to put the blame on someone else", Capt Amarinder asked Kejriwal while talking to reporters along the sidelines of the 'Halke vich Captain' programme here today.
"No doubt the Akalis and Sukhbir are capable of doing any dirty thing, but even he cannot make fake CDs unless you and your own people are not involved", he told the Delhi Chief Minister, while adding, "you just can't hide behind the bad reputation of Sukhbir... One evil can't hide behind the other".
Earlier interacting with the people of Shutrana constituency, Capt Amarinder promised to hold the Badal family including Bikram Majithia to account for all their sins of omission and commission.
Asked by one of the questioners whether he will again put the Badals behind the bars as he did in 2002, he said, he will not spare anyone from Badal to Majithia and ensure that they pay for the sins they have committed against Punjab. "I will avenge all the excesses and injustice you suffered", he said amidst a thundering applause from the people.
The PCC president assured the workers that they will get the best candidate of their own choice. The workers assured him that whosoever candidate is fielded by the party will get full support.
Capt Amarinder clarified that the Congress government will continue with the aata-daal scheme. Besides, he said, it will also provide sugar and tea under this scheme. He said, he will also ensure good quality wheat to the people and not the substandard as supplied by the Akalis.
Similarly he said not only will his government continue with the free power to farmers, it will also ensure regular power supply. Besides, the government will not charge anything from the farmers for their tubewell connections also as currently they are made to pay a large amount by the Akali government.
