Moga, September 16, 2016: Aam Aadmi Party, Ludhiana West Candidate and Kissan Wing General Secretary, Ahbaab Singh Grewal today in a press conference alleged that ruling SAD-BJP alliance is using criminal elements to attack and intimidate AAP volunteers and is using the state machinery in blatant disregard of the law to protect such criminals.
Grewal alleged that alliance government is so unnerved by the massive and historic turn out at Arvind Kejriwal's rally in Bagapurana that they are now stooping to such a low level of politics Akali MC from ward number 12 Bagapurana Satnam Singh Sattu openly abused and threatened AAP Joint Secretary Jagdeep Singh Brar Jaimalwaala and then attacked the shop of AAP volunteer Baljinder Singh Khalsa whose workers- Balwinder Singh and Gobind Singh were beaten up mercilessly and grievously injured.
Instead of arresting the culprits and booking them under the relevant sections of IPC the local police is seen as openly siding with the accused who is a sitting SAD MC from ward number 12 Bagapurana, he said.
Not only were sections 307, 450 and 326 of the IPC not included in the FIR, instead the accused was booked under relatively lenient section 323 of IPC which was later upgraded to 325 .
The police remand of the accused was not asked for by the local police and he was sent directly to judicial custody. Now a case has been made so that he can apply for bail easily.
Grewal demanded that not only attacker should be booked under sections 307, 450 and 326 rather remanded to police custody so that rest of the 20 attackers who have not yet been apprehended should be held and weapons used during the attack are also recovered. The ruling SAD-BJP alliance thinks that it can subdue AAP volunteers by using such tactics but each and every volunteer and leader of AAP is committed and duty bound to not only support but stand by completely with our cadre.
AAP volunteers will hold a flag March to protest against the high-handedness of the ruling party in Bagapurana tomorrow and AAP is serving a 72 hour ultimatum to the government to arrest the culprits and do the needful legal procedures following which the state leadership will decide on further course of action. We will never allow such elements to suppress people's revolution, he added.
