Chandigarh, September 23, 2016: Punjab BJP today launched a scathing attack on Capt. Amarinder Singh stating that the former Punjab CM should be worried about his sinking ship rather than worrying about the Akali-BJP coalition. Taking a strong objection to the comments made by Capt. Amarinder that the Akali-BJP combine was about to sink, Punjab BJP vice-president Harjit Singh Grewal and state secretary Vineet Joshi said that under Capt. Amarinder’s leadership, Congress’ ship had sunk twice in the state and he should get ready to lose for the third consecutive time.
In a joint statement issued today, the leaders said. “Unlike the Congress, we have focused on the politics of development and we work on defined principles. Congress has always practiced the politics of vengeance and falsehood. Development works carried out under the leadership of PM Modi at the Centre and in the progress made by Punjab under the SAD-BJP regime has provided self-esteem to every member of the society. The voters are now ready to choose the coalition for the third consecutive time”.
Putting a question mark on the methodolgy of the Congress, the leaders further said that the Congress was in dire straits due to factionalism. Without mentioning the names of Shamsher Singh Dullon and Hansraj Hans, the statement said that Congress leaders were busy lobbying against each other. The leaders took a dig at Capt. Amarinder saying that he should keep his house in order rather than pointing fingers at others.
The joint statement also stated that while the SAD-BJP coalition had given equal importance to all the religions by building religious monuments and conducting Yatras etc., Congress’ antics were actually posing threat to national integrity.
