New Delhi, November 2, 2026: Forty-two Air Force Schools across the country have adopted the ScrollControl Child Digital Safety Programme, with 261 teachers completing certification as Cyber Crime Intervention Officers to strengthen the protection of schoolchildren against online threats.
The initiative has been spearheaded by the Indian Air Force Educational and Cultural Society under the aegis of Air Headquarters, in partnership with the Information Sharing and Analysis Center (ISAC) Foundation. It coincides with the observance of National Cyber Security Awareness Month.
The programme aims to equip schools with trained personnel who can respond to cyber-related incidents involving children, including online grooming and exploitation, misuse of artificial intelligence (AI), gaming-related harm and financial fraud.
Teachers trained to act as first responders
Under the programme, 261 teachers from 42 Air Force Schools have undergone training and certification as Cyber Crime Intervention Officers.
Their training includes identifying online threats, helping protect children from digital exploitation, preserving electronic evidence and responding to cybercrime incidents.
The programme also provides access to round-the-clock victim support through a multidisciplinary network comprising cyber lawyers, cyber psychologists and forensic experts.
Schools to establish cyber clubs and conduct awareness sessions
Through ScrollControl, participating Air Force Schools will be able to establish cyber clubs, certify students in cyber safety and organise awareness sessions for parents and school staff.
The programme also provides access to an age-appropriate content rating platform to help families make informed decisions about children’s digital consumption.
Participating schools will also have the opportunity to be recognised as Cyber Safe Schools.
Initiative aligned with CBSE cyber safety requirements
The initiative comes amid growing concerns over children’s exposure to digital platforms, social media and online spaces primarily designed for adult users.
With increasing access to affordable high-speed internet and smart devices, school-going children face risks ranging from online grooming and exploitation to gaming-related harm and financial scams.
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has directed its affiliated schools to incorporate cyber safety practices through the monthly observance of Cyber Jagrookta Diwas.
The ScrollControl programme is intended to help Air Force Schools meet these requirements by developing in-house cyber safety expertise and creating awareness among students, teachers and parents.
The training, certification and empanelment of teachers on the National Security Database, along with access to specialised victim support, are being facilitated through the ISAC Foundation.
