Teachers participate in Educational Orientation program in Andhra Pradesh

Nawanshahr (Punjab),Match 23,2026 As many as 30 teachers from government schools of Punjab recently participated in a five-day educational trip-cum-orientation programme at the River Valley Institute of Educational Resources, Rishi Valley Institute of Educational Resources,Andhra Pradesh.
The delegation was deputed by SCERT Punjab under the guidance of Director Kiran Sharma and Assistant Director Shanker Choudhary. The initiative aimed at providing exposure to innovative and child-centered teaching-learning practices and to enhance the professional capacity of teachers.
During the programme, the teachers visited various learning spaces including Ashokvanam, Vidyavanam, Valmikvanam, and Sundervanam.
These centers showcased a unique model of integrating natural surroundings with the learning process, where education goes beyond textbooks and connects deeply with real-life experiences.
A key highlight of the orientation was the emphasis on group-based learning rather than conventional classroom teaching.
The teaching-learning process was organized in small groups, promoting collaboration, communication, critical thinking, and active participation among students. This approach reflects a shift from rote learning to experiential and joyful learning.
The participants also gained valuable insights into activity-based learning and child-centered pedagogy. The sessions conducted by the institute’s team were highly interactive and informative, providing practical exposure to innovative educational practices.
The delegation expressed deep appreciation for the opportunity and acknowledged that the experience would significantly contribute to improving classroom practices in their respective schools.
The teachers committed to implementing these learnings to create more engaging, meaningful, and student-friendly learning environments.
