Punjab film producers seek single-window system for shooting permissions; FSLPA Chief meets CM Mann

Chandigarh, August 25, 2026: The Five State Line Producers Association (FSLPA) has urged the Punjab government to introduce a single-window clearance mechanism for film shooting permissions across the state, aimed at reducing administrative delays and making Punjab more attractive for film productions.
FSLPA President Darshan Aulakh recently met Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and discussed the proposal along with other concerns facing the state’s film industry.
Aulakh said the meeting focused on the need to simplify the existing process for obtaining permissions for film and television shoots. He said the association had also held discussions with officials concerned to work out the process for taking the proposal forward.
Under the proposed system, production houses could potentially apply for multiple permissions through a unified platform instead of approaching different government departments separately.
The proposed mechanism could cover permissions related to shooting locations, security arrangements and approvals from local authorities, helping producers manage clearances through a more streamlined process.
The association said the initiative could contribute to creating a more film-friendly environment in Punjab and encourage national and international production houses to consider the state for filming.
Aulakh said the FSLPA would continue to pursue the proposal with the state government and keep its members informed about further developments.
The association and government officials are expected to work on the technical and administrative framework required for implementing the proposed single-window mechanism.
