In a significant move to harness the potential of rural youth and steer them towards constructive social activities, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) State Youth Wing has launched a massive campaign to constitute village-level Youth Welfare Clubs across the state. The initiative, led by AAP State Youth Wing Vice President and Chairman DPC, Hardeep Singh Sra, aims to establish a network of youth clubs that will serve as hubs for community development, sports, and social service.
The campaign, which kicked off with great fanfare in Bathinda district, envisions the creation of a Youth Welfare Club in every village with at least 21 members. These clubs will be democratically managed, with elections being conducted for three key posts: President, Secretary, and Cashier. The democratic process will ensure that the clubs are truly representative of the youth and that they have a strong voice in local affairs.
A dedicated team of AAP leaders and volunteers, led by District Unit President Ramandeep Sidhu, is assisting Hardeep Singh Sra in the implementation of the campaign. The team also includes Sukhjinder Romana, Vice President, Resham Singh Halqa Coordinator, Gurinder Singh President Bathinda Urban, Hartej Bhullar, and Paramjit Singh KotFatta Chairman Primary Cooperative Agriculture Development Bank.
Speaking on the occasion, Hardeep Singh Sra emphasized the importance of empowering rural youth and providing them with opportunities to contribute to society. "Our youth are the future of our state, and it is crucial that we invest in their development," he said. "Through these Youth Welfare Clubs, we aim to channelize the energy and idealism of our youth towards positive social change. We want to create a platform where they can learn new skills, develop leadership qualities, and make a meaningful difference in their communities."
Sra also highlighted the role of the youth clubs in combating the menace of drug abuse. "Punjab has been grappling with the problem of drug addiction for years, and it is our youth who are most vulnerable," he said. "By providing them with alternative avenues for engagement and self-expression, we can help them stay away from drugs and lead healthy, productive lives."
The campaign has received an overwhelming response from the youth in rural areas. Large numbers of young people are coming forward to register for the clubs and participate in the democratic process. The AAP State Youth Wing is confident that this initiative will have a transformative impact on the lives of rural youth and contribute to the overall development of the state.
