New Delhi, April 7, 2026: On the auspicious occasion of Baisakhi, the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (DSGMC) has issued visas to 2,840 pilgrims traveling to historic gurdwaras in Pakistan, announced DSGMC President Sardar Harmeet Singh Kalka at a press conference today.
Sardar Kalka congratulated all devotees who submitted their passports on time, confirming that the passports of those whose visas were approved have been handed over.
Despite global tensions, the DSGMC ensured the smooth processing of visas for the pilgrimage.
Of the 451 applications sent by DSGMC, 409 pilgrims have successfully received their visas, while about 100 applications could not be processed due to technical passport issues.
The journey holds immense spiritual significance, allowing devotees to visit revered sites including Gurdwara Nankana Sahib, Gurdwara Panja Sahib, Gurdwara Dera Sahib, and Gurdwara Darbar Sahib Kartarpur, fulfilling a lifelong Ardas for many Sikhs.
Sardar Kalka also expressed gratitude to the Central Government for supporting the visa process in respect of Sikh religious sentiments. The Baisakhi pilgrimage will commence on April 10, 2026, from Attari, with 2,840 pilgrims paying homage at Pakistan’s historic gurdwaras.
