65-year-old businessman dies by suicide in Ferozepur
Ferozepur, August 17, 2026: Panic spread in Golden Enclave in Ferozepur city after around 65-year-old businessman Gurkirpal Singh allegedly shot himself with his licensed firearm. Police reached the spot after receiving information about the incident and initiated an investigation.
According to the deceased’s brother, Gurkirpal Singh usually woke up around 4 am to offer prayers. On Monday morning, when he did not wake up at his usual time, family members noticed the delay. Later, when his brother came out after taking a bath, he saw that Gurkirpal Singh had already woken up. He went to the bathroom and then returned to his room.
After some time, a sound was heard from inside the room. Family members called the person living on rent upstairs, and when the door was broken open, Gurkirpal Singh was found in a serious condition. According to the family, he had shot himself with his licensed .32-bore firearm.
Family members said that Gurkirpal Singh was taking medication for a brain-related illness and had faced problems in this regard in the past. However, the family currently has no clear information about what prompted him to take the extreme step.
At the time of the incident, his wife and son had gone to visit relatives for some work. Gurkirpal Singh is survived by his wife and a son. Police are investigating the circumstances and other facts surrounding the incident.
