Chandigarh, October 13, 2026: Manjit Singh Sidhu, former Officer on Special Duty (OSD) for Public Relations to Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and a long-time associate of the Chief Minister, has joined the Congress.
A journalist before entering politics, Sidhu worked with several Punjabi newspapers and held editorial positions before joining the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in 2014. He subsequently handled media affairs for the party’s Punjab unit and became a member of its state core committee.
Sidhu played a key role in managing the AAP’s media communications in Punjab. He led a team that monitored media coverage of the party, the Punjab government and Mann, and briefed the Chief Minister on developments.
His association with Mann dates back to the early years of the AAP in Punjab. Sidhu also held a position in the party’s legislative wing, with a 2024 Punjab government directory listing him as Secretary of the AAP in the Punjab Vidhan Sabha.
In January 2023, Mann appointed Sidhu as his OSD for Public Relations. Sidhu resigned from the post in November 2023, citing health reasons.
